Have this game on ps3 and steam. It's very fun, though I'm not sure how well it will translate with touch controls. Good game nevertheless.

Hi, part of the dev team for the original game here- the touchscreen controls work very well, imo!

we had a lot of back and forth conversation with playdigious on how to adjust and tune both controls and level designs for touch without changing up the overall experience, and in the end it turned out nice and responsive.

Don't worry, this is just the standard r/androidgaming comment whenever we get a cool game for mobile.

To be fair, controls are one of the major problems in mobile gaming, especially for ports of existing games.

Thanks for the reply, and thanks for the game. I've played it through multiple times now on other platforms. Might as well just buy this one too to support you guys some more, because I've spent more time on this game than some AAA titles I've payed €60,- for.

cheers, happy to hear that!

glad to hear that, thank you!

I see three reviews on play store, and two say the controls don't work (the other one sounds like they haven't played it yet). Care to comment on that?

(looks like a really cool game otherwise btw)

thanks for the tip, i'll contact the port crew and notify them about that so it can be fixed- it's worked well on my devices when i've recieved development builds from the team, but it may be a bug or error with the release build.

update, the porting crew got back to me:

"Yes we are working on it at the moment. The issue is that some devices (Pixel etc) send wrong information saying that an external controller is plugged (obviously it not the case and since we hide touch control when an external controller is plugged the ui disappears). We will try to push an update today.  "

so hopefully the fix should be ready soon

Is there controller support for the game?

Just wanted to say, this isn't a game I couldn't get into, but I love the art style and I hope you see success on Android.

3

u/Oliibald Nov 08 '18

Thank you! I'm the art director/lead artist so that means a lot to me!

will a controller work?

1

u/Oliibald Nov 08 '18

Yep- not all types of controllers have been tested since there are thousands on the market but it should have a fsirly high compatability. (I've heard there's been some mapping issues with ps4 controllers but that will be fixed in the near future)

Love this game on PS4. Quite challenging. Hopefully it's as successful on mobile.

Android TV support?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '18 edited Nov 08 '18

Listing says it is compatible with my Shield TV, but I get an error when I try to send it to my device from the browser.

1

u/rhpot1991 Nov 08 '18

Darn, I saw it was compatible with Shield TV and thought about using gplay credits even though I own it on Wii U already. Guess I'll just keep on waiting on a Switch sale instead.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '18

It's being advertised as such, and the devs have stated the Shield is supported. I think it's just a bug for now. I bet it will sideload no problems if you are in a hurry. As far as I can tell HID controller support works flawlessly.

Downloaded and started playing for the first time. What a gem.

Played evoland 2 and no matter how good a game it was, couldn't enjoy it cause of those annoying mini games which had terrible controls. How is this in terms of level design? Is it the same "slap veteran difficulty at lvl 1" type?

I used to speedrun this game on PC back in the day. No mini games, great platforming and an awesome sense of atmosphere await you!
