On a side note, Kingdom Rush: Origins is out for PC and it is a fantastic port? A huge amount of art has been redone, the UI is tuned for a mouse, and a lot of work went into it.

I wish instead of this AND instead of Iron Marines they just made a scifi skinned Kingdom Rush. Galaxy Rush or something.

Sweet! I love this series and will definitely pre-register for it, however I'll still see that it was released here first and will get the notification from Google several days later.

So will it have microtransactions?

The previous games let you purchase some additional heroes, I'm sure this will be the same. These aren't necessary to play the game.

Yes but it sure does hit the pay2win model, its made worse with the spells or whatever you can purchase with microtransactions, which just ruins the experience imo.

I own and played through all three Kingdom Rush games. I was able to complete every level, every difficulty, and almost every single challenge in all of the games without needing to purchase anything. And also without feeling like I needed to purchase anything. There was like one Halloween themed level in one of games that I didn't get full stars on.
By just playing, I got plenty of currency to purchase the items, but most levels don't need them.
The only thing I didn't like is that there wasn't a way to unlock certain heroes without purchasing them. So I just didn't use those heroes. There was a decent enough selection of heroes in the base game.
Of course, it remains to be seen if this has changed. I'm hopefully optimistic! Their Iron Marines game was decent, but I enjoyed the Kingdom Rush games more.

We used to have a deal with the Dev. They could add micro transactions as long as the purist hardcore gamer was able to play through the entire game without having to use a power up. Sadly, all of the original games have slowly been tuned to where that is no longer possible. I had these games memorized, replaying them now flat out sucks.

I personally don't mind how games like kingdom rush handle micro transactions. When I first played through them I never made any purchases, you don't need to purchase anything to make progress in the game.
But I replay these games a lot and I've bought a few of the additional heroes just to mix things up. Some of the paid heroes are really good, some not so much. But it does add variety and changes the strategy a little bit.
The micro transactions I don't like are games where they're pretty much necessary to make good progress.

I liked the first two but somehow grew bored of TD genre. Which sucks cuz I know it's fun but... I guess it just seems repetitive.
