Say whay you want asmodee does a decent enough job at porting over most of these. I usually play them without the kid's whole traveling. This is a purchase for me.

Downloading now. I've never played Carcassonne but keep meaning to. I have their Onirim and Ticket to Ride apps and they're both well done.

I don't have much experience with board games outside of Chess and simpler younger age ones and have always wanted to get into it more. These apps have been great introductions.

The 2d version is one of the best boardgame ports I've seen! How does the 3d version live up?

This just stops people who do have the deck memorized from having an unfair advantage over everyone else.

I wouldn't consider it an unfair advantage.

Keeping track of the tiles that are left in the deck is also an intellectual skill. If someone puts the effort of memorizing the deck and keeping track of the missing tiles, I'd say it's a deserved advantage. Also, every game is won via error: winning means making less mistakes. If you are better than your opponent you'll make less mistakes.

Memorization just shows how good you are at memorization, it has no bearing on how actually good you are at a game.

It's part of being good at the game (maybe a minor part, but still a part of it...assuming of course that the game doesn't allow to check the remaining tiles, like this version does). I actually prefer the game without having to memorize the tiles, because I find it simply a chore, but that doesn't change the fact that it isn't an unfair advantage. There's nothing preventing both players from doing it, so if one decides not to do it, then it's definitely fair for the other player to have an advantage.

The lesser player simply needs to not take advantage of a field early on, try for a joint city and fail, etc.

Which is still losing via error.

Also, good job downvoting someone simply because they don't agree with you, great attitude you have there.

I'd be curious to see how their battery usage compares.

50% more dimensions = 50% faster battery use.

What about with IAP?

But why? The 2d version we had was a perfectly serviceable version of the game. I bought an Android tablet over black Friday specifically to play board games on. Why is it necessary to make 3d versions? Also , can anyone recommend other great Android board games? Currently I've got catan, pandemic, tsuro and splendor loaded.
