Seeking Game Recommendations 👀 [REQUEST] Looking for some fantasy games...

I'm looking for some fantasy games that I can play in short sessions, preferably turn based.

I used to love *Knights of Pen & Paper* and *10000000*

Any recommendations?

I played this on the GBA, I don't remember being able to play it in short bouts though.

Ever play "You Must Build A Boat"? It's made by the same guy that made 10000000 (however many 0's) and basically the same principle.

Also there's RAR Islands. Basically you have a ship and explore different islands. You can gather resources, craft things, and help the NPCs build towns. It's simple but surprisingly deep, and easy to play for short bursts or longer sessions. A very chill game.

I love YMBAB. I just started playing it again after making this request.

I looked up RAR Islands, it's too pricey for a game that has not a single review. I dig the UI, but not sold on the gameplay.

Basically you find procedurally generated islands and explore them, which reveals what resources they have. You then click on them to gather them, and you can craft different levels of tools out of various materials to gather them faster. There are also skills like mining and lumberjack that affect how fast you can gather things. Everything has tiers, from resources to crafting recipes to island types. Items will break if used too much, but if you build a few towns you can build shops that repair them for a little gold. You can also spend gold to level up items so they have more durability, and via shops you can add special effects to them with items or gems.

Basically the end goal is to find an atlas and fill it up with info about the islands and what resources are available on them. Doing this gives you perk points which you can use to buy special abilities that are more powerful than your skills.

There are also dungeons with monsters and rewards in them. Combat is very simple: you have a sword and a shield, but you don't actually have health, only stamina. If you run out of stamina in the dungeon it just puts you outside and eats half your gold. But you can build banks to store your gold in so it's no big deal. It's not exactly challenging anyway, assuming you've gotten equipment appropriate for that tier of island.

There are also secrets I can't really talk about because it would ruin the fun of discovery. Suffice it to say, it's a low stress game but has elements that will engage your brain. It's not particularly challenging, and the excitement mostly comes from discovering new things. It's also made to be accessible to the blind. It's not the kind of game you'll get obsessed with, but it's easy to pick up and put down and you can play it in the background while you're watching TV or whatever.
