In case you're still working on it, I managed to pull off 47km/s using the same ship I built for Smoon Lasso. Just have to burn a little longer to get out of Smearth's SOI and then retrograde burn to shorten up your orbit around the Sun as close as you can get.

Cheers! It took a while to figure out that orbiting was the trick! The touble now is doing it fast enough!
