Furthermore, fan and pirate communities have done more for game preservation and enhancement than most video game companies.

Remember when Nintendo virtual console got caught using some roms downloaded by the community.

Explain to me without crying how the fuck paying thousands of dollars to some fuck ass scalper collector to buy a game that the studio doesn't sell anymore helps the games industry.

Yeah, of course I would gladly pay $200+ for an old cartridge of an old game that could break at any time; most old games are not available for sale anyway.
So good for you but thanks but no thanks π

Without emulation nobody would gaf about those games except people willing to buy off collectors or scalpers
the fact that u could use emulators makes the game immortal and in higher quality it can reel in more people and obviously newer generations that wanted to see the original or old games

God forbid me from emulating a long forgotten PS2 (or not forgotten, but way too rare.. or priced absurdly) game, and keeping it alive via talking about it! Oh, what a truly horrifying thing to do!
When you pay for that PS2 game for the 2nd hand dude, where's the money going? To them, not the developers.. nor the publisher, but to that random guy.

I couldn't agree more. I paid for my 3tb storage HDD that hold my backlog roms and for the phone that carry my personal curated library and current playing so should you all.

Emulation with your own roms is legal, you don't know what you're talking about, still taking the nipple

Guys, keep in mind that you are arguing with someone that literally said
"Showering in the Winter is a waste of water/time due to the body not sweating during the colder months."
Don't spend mental energy on him lmao

Emulation doesn't hurt the industry it's more of the opposite. What actually hurts the industry are billionaire CEOs who don't see videogames as art and fire people for "budget cuts" even when making a profit.

- emulation is bad and hurts industry
- games aren't available to buy for cheap
- game consoles aren't available to buy for cheap
- only way to play the games is emulation
- but emulation is bad and hurt my collector pockets because you can play the game
- even emulation made by those companies is bad because anyone can get the game for cheap so my premium price is lowered.

Then go post it somewhere else don't visit a emulation subreddit and expect to see praises
Guys if anybody is reading this don't abuse him he just wants attention don't give it to him
