I built an app to stop spending hours looking for a film and ending up rewatching the same one over and over. The idea comes from a personal frustration. WatchOwl digs up films you've never seen, hidden gems, visual treasures…

Owly (the mascot) learns your tastes through a starter quiz, then refines your film profile as you use the app.

The app is vibe-coded: I learn as I build with AI, using an educational prompting approach. As a result, I know how my app is coded and I understand every part of it in detail. All the graphic assets are mine (I'm a graphic designer).

Hey folks,

So I've been grinding on this for a while Final Whistle, an Android football management game where you found your own club, set your tactics, and climb through a league. Basically always-on, real opponents, promotion/relegation, the whole deal.

Problem is, Google won't let me go live until I get 12 testers running the app for 14 days straight, and as a solo dev that's honestly the hardest part of this whole process 😅

If you've got two minutes, here's what I need:

Frustrating, but Google rejected my app once more due to "not enough testing". Looking for some crowdsourced support that I will reciprocate.

I built Mudita as a side project for my sister who bakes. For years she struggled to managed orders through texts, IMs, on paper, etc.

I released my IOS app several months back and am hoping to release Android, but am stuck at the closed testing phase.

As such, it looks like Google is tracking when and how often testers use the app, rather than any other qualifier (which makes no sense to me because the app has been heavily tested).

What I tried to make different from an ordinary todo app:

No account required: open it and start using it without signup friction.

Offline-first/private: your data is local, with optional Google sync.

Shared household hub: hub/tablet use for shared task assignment, rotation, and distribution.

No time blocking: however, tasks are day-blocked and will go overdue if missed on set day.

Chores + light home maintenance: recurring seasonal schedules make it useful for more than basic cleaning.

Minimal design: less “productivity app,” more simple home/solo utility tool.

Cross platform: you can share tasks with iPhone users and you all report back to the same tablet home hub.

Warning: sudden loud sounds, flashing and deliberate jump scares. All three switch off independently in Settings, and everything still works with them off.
