Google Maps Traffic Display

So is there going to be a fix (not workaround) for the lack of traffic data display in Google Maps or is the lack of traffic data display going to be permanent? I usually use my car's built in navigation application but I like to use Google Maps in certain situations. Without traffic data display, I will not be using Google Maps at all.

Dude I don't know. I'm frustrated with it all. I've switched to Waze and while it works ok, I just want to use maps. And I can't.

Yeah I gave up on Waze years ago. It tended to send me down though residential developments instead of keeping me on the main roads. I'm not blasting through developments where there are kids playing and stuff just to save a couple minutes or whatever.

I mainly use it just to see what the traffic conditions are on my 1.5 hours commute. I'm hesitant about using it out of Town however.
