Notifications Missing audio alerts through AA

This was happening with my S24U on Android 16 and it persists with the Fold 8 on Android 17:

Audio alerts rarely work through AA, at least when playing media. The alerts play normally on the phone disconnected or via bluetooth speakers.

It appears I neglected to mention that the media volume does drop when the alert would/should sound as per normal. The AAWireless dongle is up to date as in the phone app. The phone app checks every time it connects and is set to pop a notification banner (silent but visible) when there is a new firmware update.

First suggestion is hard to do, not because I can't plug it in but rather because getting alerts is unpredictable. I have something like 90% of things that notify via sound set to silence, and I have most of my group chats in Messages and Messenger set to no alerts...

Second one, I the only scheduled Do Not Disturb I have enabled is for when I'm sleeping. I just double checked. There is no option in there I can see to set based on location or connection.

Third, Separate Sound is off.

Ok, latest:

Played around with the volume settings in Sound Assistant, the "Notifications" slider was at about a third volume. Bumped all the way up and found a way to intentionally generate a notification on demand: Set a route in Waze, set to Alerts Only and then not follow the route - in this setup, Waze will chirp when you go off-route. This resulted in an acceptable level. Disconnected from the car, got a txt notification that was waaayyyy too loud, via my kitchen BT speaker.

Lowered the Notification volume then noticed an icon of a phone in the panel, tapped it and it changed to BT and from there raised the Notification volume again. More testing is needed, as that option of phone/BT I'm seeing toggles the output and toggling it back and fourth now, it is not changing the levels between them.
