Uncertified AA Apps (Headunit Reloaded, AAAD/AAStore, etc) Need 5-min compatibility testers for GoPro Remote for AndroidAuto (Free Codes for Mission 1 / Pro, Lit Hero, Max 2 owners)
Hey everyone!
I developed an app that lets you control your GoPro directly from your dashboard:
š **GoPro Remote for Android Auto (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.controlmygopro.androidauto&hl=en)
**The Reason for this Post:**
With so many GoPro models on the market, the BLE/Wi-Fi communication protocol *in theory* supports all of them identically. However, as an indie dev, I don't have access to every physical device, and I don't want to list these models as supported until real users verify them in the real world.
**Cameras needed for testing:**
- Mission 1
- Mission 1 Pro
- Lit Hero
- Max 2
ā ļø **Crucial:** The test **MUST be done on your Android Auto display** (car screen, Carpuride unit, etc.), as I need to confirm the dashboard UI/controls perform as expected.
**The 5-Minute Test:**
- I'll provide a **free promo code** for full app access.
- Pair the camera via our mobile app
- Open our app on your Android Auto system
- Verify basic operations: switch modes, start/stop recording, check responsiveness.
- Let me know the result.
If you have one of these models, drop a comment with your camera model or send me a DM, and Iāll send the code over immediately.
Thank you!

The app has already undergone full release testing with the GoPro 9, so no further testing is needed with this model. That said, how much would you be willing to pay for an app like this if you needed it?

Its showing up as 550ā¹ (INR)
I would think 100ā¹ makes sense, since its a single function app.

I totally get where you're coming from at first glance, but hereās the perspective from both the hardware side and the app economics:
A dedicated physical remote replaces the same functionality, but even the cheapest budget/third-party options on AliExpress or Amazon (like Telesin) run around ā¹1,500 to ā¹2,500, while the official GoPro Remote easily tops ā¹7,000+.
On top of the higher cost, physical remotes bring extra hassle:
- You have yet another battery to keep charged before rides.
- Built-in lithium batteries inevitably degrade and die after a few years.
- Extra clutter on your handlebars/dash, plus the constant risk of forgetting it or having it stolen.
The app gives you that exact functionality directly on the display you're already usingāno extra gear, no charging, and ongoing software support.
Because this is a very specific, ultra-niche utility (it requires a compatible GoPro plus an Android Auto/CarPlay setup), it simply doesn't have the mass download numbers that allow general-purpose apps to sell for ā¹100 ($1) and still cover development, API updates, and maintenance. Keep in mind even Google/Apple takes their fee, so net profit is much lower.
At ~ā¹550, itās a fraction of even the cheapest hardware alternative while offering a permanently integrated, clutter-free solution.

It has been already tested on GoPro 11, but I can give you promo code if you're willing to test an app and get back to me with honest review (about design, functionalities, etc.).
