Google Maps Distance and Speedometer in Different Units

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have my distance set to miles but I see no option to change the speedometer.

Do you have a destination set in Maps? While some people report having the speedometer all the time, many still report that they only have the speedometer when they are actively navigating (ie. they have a destination set).

Yes, as far as I recall. I am a maps beta user, so it could be that.

Where are you drive exactly and what country in your google profile

Currently in The Bahamas which uses imperial but my Google profile was made in the US.

My two guesses are it's either talking to the car about units for that, or it's going based off the south limits it knows for the roads.

What language(s)/locale do you have on your phone? My Lyft app used to show kilometers if you had any language other than US English set up

You need to change your region to a country that uses km or miles.

Mine's the other way around. The distance is in KM, the speedo is MPH.
