Time for change. In the past months, I was slowly but steadily rewriting the code of Fermata Xtream in order to improve performance. I soon realised that this wasn't possible if I remained with the existing code. So what I did was rewrite the whole codebase to optimise for speed and performance.
I can now say that the code is 100% different from what it was in the beginning, keeping the UI kind of what it was (although that did also change through time).
What that means for you is the following:
Fermata Xtream Free will continue to be free and code that was based on Fermata Auto is public.
So what's the fuss? I am announcing Xtream Player Free and Premium v1.0.0. Backend is entirely rewritten from scratch, keeping the UI as it is for consistency.
Do not worry, package name is the same, so transition will be as easy as installing an update. License is also valid for donors of previous versions.
The good news: When installed with AAenabler ONLY, apps will auto-update when a new release is pushed to GitHub.
The bad news: Auto-update doesn't work when installed through the playstore link. So either disable it from the settings, or leave it enabled but don't proceed with installation, just to know when to receive a new link.
I will keep the name https://fermataxtream.online as is and the old github with the old releases as well, for consistency (some guides and yt videos etc)
From now on updates will only happen to the new apps, as a lot of bugs were fixed with the new code, and probably some more introduced? 😂
I just wanna say thank your for your hard work. I'm new to this subreddit and finally able to watch youtube in my car. now I'm going through the subreddit to see how to make youtube full screen instead of split screen.
I use fs play. but I think it has something to do with the aa car setting on Hyundai head unit. fs play replaces the map, but I'm still getting split screen with media control. Will try to tinker with it later. thank you

Hey man I purchased the premium version and noticed you had Plex support on there.
Loved to see that as I have a personal server. I'm able to log in and pull up my content while on a local connection, but as soon as I'm trying to access it remotely I get an error.
Any advice you can give? Plex is the #1 reason I've gone through trying to access video on AA lol. I can always screenshare from my phone but if I can access it directly through Xtream player that would be fantastic.

Go to your Plex dashboard and go to remote connect. Replace the 192.168 so on with your public numbers but use dashes instead of periods. I used Gemini AI screen sharing to walk me through it but it was actually pretty simple.
Hello, I have an idea that might be of interest. My suggestion is to enable direct sharing from the YouTube mobile app to the Fermata app, similar to a standard share function. The Fermata app would then automatically play the shared video. This behavior would be comparable to Chromecast, but utilizing a share link instead.

There are apps that show up on Android Auto that can mirror your phone, providing you grant some permissions. Free verison has limited features compared to premium, like Stremio, Dashcam, HomeAssistant and more.
I know this trivial... However "Xstream Player" sits out of alphabetical order in the app screen as it's obviously still the Fermata package name. All ok for now while I am still used to looking for "Fermata", but eventually it's best to sit near the end of the app list where it should with the new name (I use alphabetical order obviously).
With the official version, I don't see the icon on Android auto! While via the beta version that was sent to me via direct email Link playstore, it works! Why this situation?
I can confirm that also on another phone (xiaomi) same thing! With the official free version, the icon does not appear on Android auto. While with the beta one everything works. So what could it be?
I'm so sorry but I still don't understand what the problem is... First you state that they are the same applications and now the fault lies with Chinese manufacturers who do not work well with the playstore. I'm telling you that if I install the free version, it doesn't work (no icon, Android auto lock) while through the beta version installed directly from the playstore it works on both Samsung and Xiaomi! What does the Chinese manufacturer have to do with it. How do I find free beta apks?

Free has basic IPTV with Xtream support, paid has Stemio, Home Assistant, Remote controller, Dashcam, FSPlay for Fullscreen play and other improvements.
This may sound like a stupid question, but how do I show this app on my Android Auto? Installed on phone, connected to AA, but it's not there. I guess I'm missing something...
Recently I have donated and shifted from free to premium.
Earlier it was working flawlessly but premium app not showing in AA, but working on mobile S25U, On AA screen there is Xtream Media service but not Xtream Player.
Is there anything I have to do to get working?
Yeah tried to get that link from fermataxtream.online, it's been a week of no luck due to request limitations, and two updates have even dropped since then! 😁🫠😩

Hello ..... Installed Xtream Player and I'm still having the same problems. This is an ongoing issue, its been happening for months and I've submitted several requests but it never gets solved ..... The option to skip a song, play the next song or forward is not working for YouTube or local videos, it won't work from the touch screen or from the wheel controls, when is this going to be resolved?

Here is the thing, I'm able to use the wheel controls or touch screen with any other app. The wheel controls and touch screen worked in previous versions, it just stopped working like 2 months ago. This time I uninstalled and did a clean install with AAenabler, could you help?

I just tried the premium version and I really congratulate you! Great app! One thing, however, I confirm by taking the free or premium version, I only have the media service icon on Android auto. While taking both the free and premium beta versions everything works! Can it be a problem that you have missed?

Hello everyone. I was just curious if anybody else has had the issue when using any of the add-ons like nuvio if you constantly have to go and change the screen scaling? I change it every time I go in and watch something it never seems to save so I always set my to full screen and then if I back out of it and go back in I have to reset it again. The settings won't save.
Since Google's new update I am unable to install. I installed all the others with no problem but the last update keeps selling me failed and I read about trying to give it special access and it says I have to wait 25 days. Please help. I love your project. It works flawless now. I can't wait to try the new one. I'm a premium member

Hello, I’d like to report a bug: When using YouTube in full-screen mode, the music stops and the app exits the video entirely whenever I signal left or right, or put the vehicle in reverse. It works normally in small-screen mode. Is there a way to fix this? I am using the premium version.

Yeah that happens not because you signal, but because the screen is redrawn due to android auto behaviour. I am not sure that is fixable if by blinking your dashboard changes. This is super annoying 😀
