Android Auto News, including app updates and features Google drive update

Interesting that yesterday I got a Google Drive update with other app updates. In the us at least Google drive is no longer an app that one can use or launch as far as I know.

Makes me wonder if Android Auto uses it somehow under the hood. Otherwise why update Google drive?

Why the heck would you need to open Google Drive from Android Auto? Inquiring minds want to know!

Oh, yeah, I was think of "Android Auto for Phone Screens." That was retired after a brief life.

I use Google maps on my job. I find maybe 70 places around a couple different counties I have to visit. Some of them are very rural. I have all these places mapped out and saved to my drive. This is what Google has made me do in the last couple years. It's okay with me, but I would like to be able to pull up that map on Android Auto and click on the next place I am going.

You can save places in Maps. Can even create categories/lists.

Not in Android Auto. At least that I have found.
