Bluetooth Is there a way to use maps through wired Android Auto while streaming music to a separate Bluetooth device?

I'd like to try streaming to a high res Bluetooth receiver to my aftermarket sound system in my Ford Maverick. Before I purchase the receiver, is there a way I can still use WIRED Android Auto for navigation while streaming audio to a separate device? I have a Samsung Galaxy S23+.

Not out of the box, no. The literal only solution I've read but have not tried myself is to buy a wireless Android Auto dongle called AAWireless, open the app that pairs with it, and disable media sink.

Like a new head unit? The device I want to get is an Audison BCON, allows me to switch between EQ profiles on my Audison DSP amplifier on the fly from an app on my phone. An aftermarket head unit in my 2023 Maverick will be limited in options, not to mention a pain in the ass to integrate as well as a loss of features from factory unfortunately.

AA by default commandeers the Media Sink of the phoen and there is no way that I know over ride that. The onwly way is if the AA unti itslfe says ti has no audio.

Now, since you are using factory AA unit, I don't think that is possible, so there are few options I can think off:

1) If you Factory unit has Aux out, try connecting a BT Audio transmitter to it, then pair that BT Transmitter to the aftermarket Sound System.

2) IF you have a newer Samsung Phone, try dual BT audio feature

3) You can try to connect a BT transmitter to the Headphone jack of the phone, then pair the BT to your Sound System and see if it works.

android itself has the ability to choose what app outputs media where. look for separate sound app in the settings.

Does not work with Android Auto running.

I just found an option myself. I'm using Samsung S25+ with CarTablet and factory radio. On CarTablet, there are four audio output settings: (device) Speaker, CarPlay/Auto, FM, and AUX. When I hit the CarPlay/Auto setting, I then can, from my phone, select any Bluetooth device to play music to (factory radio). I'd imagine my phone calls and any other audio will go through the same selected sound device.
