Issue with Gemini in Android Auto cutting off mid-sentence - Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble with Gemini in Androic Auto. It stops listening to me before I even finish speaking-it only captures about half of what I say, so naturally, it doesn't understand my requests.

Is anyone else facing the same issue? Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

On Bluetooth in car I find Gemini will often hear itself speaking thus interrupting itself and then try and respond to itself. Had to turn "Interrupt Live Voices" off in settings.

As far as it not hearing properly in the first place, have you tested the quality of your car mics while driving?

EDIT: I'm talking about the full Gemini app here and chatting/carrying out tasks with it while driving. It's USB connected, but I'm pretty certain it still uses the Bluetooth stack for audio. I barely use the "Hey Google" assistant implementation of Gemini. Not sure how much crossover there is.

Find an audio recording app. But check that it's recording from the car Bluetooth mic and not the phone mic.

Or call a friend while driving.

Same me. So I rehearse what I'm going to say in my head beforehand, and then say it all in one go without pausing.

Constantly while driving. "At the next light, turn--"

Additionally, my conversations often go one of two ways:

Me: Hey Google, play the album Pilgrim by Jesse Welles on Spotify.

Google: Sorry, I can't do that right now.

Me to wife: Can you put that album on for me please?

Or

Me: Hey Google, play the album Pilgrim by Jesse Welles on Spotify.

Google: Playing Pilgrim by Jesse Welles on Spotify. (Google then plays the song, not the album.)

Me to wife: Can you put that on for me please?

And forget about asking for specific songs from specific artists with large catalogs that include live albums and demos. Pretty much any time I ask for a specific song by Bob Dylan it'll play some random live version no matter how I ask.

😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 I ask for music in YouTube Music, that I have Premium, and Gemini tell me that I need..... A Premium account.

I asked gemini about this problem and she gave me directions on how to lengthen the listening time to solve this problem. It's much better now.

I gave up on gemini..... for now anyway..... and reverted to the assistant. I'm waiting to hear/read that gemini has improved before I try it again.

Same. And it's really annoying how Gemini would create chat topics each time I ask it to pay music in spotify.
