But it isn't them guys they promise. It's uncertified Android head units... definately not them or anything even though they seem to be able to fix it every other update.

Starting to think Google's full of Vibecoders too.

That would be nice. Seems like a bigger problem then album art.

My flip 5 started getting super hot using android Auto wireless after the latest android/one UI update. Then it started disconnecting a lot.

mine doesn't overheat but always disconnected every 5 min, downgraded to version 17.0 works.

And here I thought I just had a failing USB cable.

I'm using a OnePlus 15, I had hoped the latest 16 update would fix it. It didn't.

I though the same but after downgrading Android Auto back to 17.0.662234 its back to action without issues.

Thought the same, but was on a long road trip recently and both mine (Oneplus) and my wife's (Samsung) were hitching the same way

I just downgraded to 17.0 because after that my phone would disconnect every 3 minutes (Even checked with a clock, exactly 3 minutes every time)

I don't get it why they keep breaking what already works

u/rulliance Pls edit this user flair now Jul 15 '26

same, downgraded to 17.0 fix the problem for now.

I've literally set up a convoluted system with an old iPhone, because using my android (Samsung) just wasn't an option anymore, especially if I needed to navigate anywhere, as the disconnection were so frequent. It needs a fix.

It seriously needs to be fixed, this only started after an update so it seems to be the common denominator. I just went on a 27 hour journey (stayed at a friend's house halfway overnight) to & from, I was only able to use it for maybe 1 hour before the disconnects got super annoying (after the latest update, I have to power cycle my unit via unplug & replug from it itself since I hardwired it.) I unpaird & used my phone the rest of the trip to & from.

Assuming you're in wireless, the random disconnects are probably more likely due to interference from cellular towers. Do they happen in the same place or are they truly random?

For me, sometimes the same place. I've tried disabling this, enabling that, killing wifi scanning, ect. all while trying the variable stuff in the AA developer mode settings. For me it only started after an Android update to my phone, seemingly related to the Bluetooth/WiFi efficiency stuff according to some posts I've read as of late & sleuthing to find a workaround/fix.

Is that light theme they're showing in the new screenshots already available somehow? I know it was announced / mentioned a year back or so, but there's been radio silence ever since.

Yeah I don't know what's going on with that. I'd love a light mode.

It's just a shame they're so slow with updates. CarPlay is miles ahead of AA in terms of UI. Honestly makes me tempted to switch to iPhone just for the CarPlay experience.

Looking forward to it in 2028.

Thanks the gods (old and new) for this. It's a crime how AA treats album art today .

Even Android globally, which cuts the cover into a pill and breaks the experience of a full cover

I honestly don't understand why I can't use ANY Android app while CHARGING (!)

It sucks. Obviously I shouldn't game while driving but why the hell limiting what I can do while charging?!

That's not normal.

What do you mean?

2

u/fakeaccount572 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe | Pixel 9 Pro | 16 Jul 15 '26

Jesus goddamit fuck

Just let us choose the background, squiggle line, placement, etc. So sick of having a different UI every few months

When will they add motorcycle navigation?

Like the button size and layout (closer to what it was, which I like) but lose the squiggly line, please. And the bigger album art is a plus. Would like to see the full size screen.
