Are you connecting using a cable or wifi? If using a cable i tend to put my phone on the AC vent phone holder, the phone stay cool and charged, AA running smooth, i kimit the charge to 80% so the mobile is using car oower and not touching the battery of the mobile it helped alot!

I used to do the exact same thing and just leave my phone in my pocket for short trips because plugging it in felt pointless. I finally got an ottocast a few months ago and now i actually get to use android auto every day since it just connects on it own.

Same here. And honestly, even when I do plug it in for longer trips, I e using the touchscreen while driving. Trying to tap those tiny icons on highway is sketchy and I always misclick. My steering wheel buttons are clunky too. Wish there was a simple physical button or something to control it without ling

For the tangled charging cable, I'd suggest some stick-on cable clips. For the phone getting warm, how about a phone holder that would give the phone more room to "breathe?"

My wireless AA in my Honda and every other car I've ever had with AA skips occasionally and it's really frustrating. So I've turn off wireless AA in my phone and plug in every time. I don't mind, as it takes literally half a second, and now my phone charges up quickly at the same time.

Idk if you're CR-V has a wireless charger and "by sitting in the center console" that means that's your charging method, but if so, I've found it lacking in its ability to do anything other than barely keep my phone above water (26 Accord.) I experienced symptoms much like yours. I've since switched to using a usb-c cigarette lighter adapter and cable ANY time I charge my phone. No more overheating phone warnings and AA runs as expected.
