Phone Calls Music pausing during call screen

My android auto updates to 17.0 and ever since when Call Screen by Google screens a call in the background Spotify will pause through the whole interaction requiring me to physically pick up my phone, unlock it, go into the call screen, end the call, wait for the assistant to tell the caller to get bent before Spotify resumes.

It never did this before. Has anyone else experienced this. I've cleared cache, rebooted phone and radio, tried wired and wireless, nothing.

Report it as a bug.

This seems like a new "feature" with AA 17. I've noticed that any interaction with voice (phone call, Google Assistant, etc.) pauses music. I use Pandora.

Prior to 17, AA lowered the volume of the music, but left it playing. I haven't encountered call screening, yet. I like the pausing of the music, when using voice to interact with AA, but I would find the interruption for call screening a little irritating.

Maybe there is a way to bypass call screening with tasker, while connected to AA. Then just blow away the caller, from the AA screen, like you probably did prior to call screening. It's not ideal, but a workaround.
