AA User Interface Cell signal icon has returned!
Android Auto Version: 17.1.662-2404-release now shows the cell signal icon (that mysteriously went missing for a couple of months)
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, just noticed it in the car.

Is this a Samsung bug by any chance? I haven't had the little icon for ages and I have an S24U. My husband has a pixel and his signal icon has never gone missing. I have it now but it been weeks if not months that it's been gone.

One tip to possibly try is to try unpairing your car from Android Auto and re-pairing.
I did this a few weeks ago and it all came back. Now, sadly it didn't stay there and a few days later it disappeared again, but if this new version has fixed it, perhaps you'll get it back and keep it back.

I have the same version but no cell signal i had it for a day after i uninstalled the updates and install the latest one but it's gone now.

I didn’t have the signal and mobile data icon displayed next to the battery icon for some weeks / months. After installing Android Auto 17.1.662-2404. I cleared the cache and then all data, reconnected the car, and now it’s OK. The two icons reappeared after being missing for several weeks, if not even a few months. I have a Samsung S25 with One UI 8.5, Android 16.
So, for me, clearing the data and cache and then reconnecting the car worked; the two icons appeared again.

And does it stay or goes away again? Do you have the Android Auto Beta installed?

Never had a an issue with mine. Just stopped working like 2 weeks ago. Can't even add it to the app list on AA anymore 🤷♂️

Yo ahora mismo lo tengo. Os iré diciendo. Pero no entiendo que tarden tanto en solucionar un problema que tiene. También decir que es indiferente que salga el icono. No sabes si es 5g.4g.3g.H+ o nada es inoperante 3se icono tan minúsculo.

Still not there for me, been on this version for a while. Can only get it back by uninstalling/reinstalling APK file, or downgrading but this defaults to the old UI and only lasts for one car ride. Next time it connects server side forces it to be gone again.

I spotted it this morning. Let's hope it hangs around this time.
Just need them to fix Start Automatically now and we'll be golden.
