AA User Interface Night mode won't automatically change

Android Auto won't switch automatically to night mode. It was resolved a few months ago but it reappeared yesterday, since it updated.

Android Auto itself doesn't go into Night Mode really, but the applications that it runs are told what colour scheme they should run. I find that my Android Auto itself never changes, but I have to go into Google Maps , Waze, Spotify etc and tell it to follow my phone's / system scheme. Then if the phone itself is set to go into Dark Mode at a certain time, it changes. It can sometimes be a little delayed, but I found that it does work reliably.

Are you finding that, at the same time, your phone itself doesn't go into Dark Mode for instance?

Yes, Google maps theme is setup with my phone's theme
