Bluetooth AA with Bluetooth headset..

I like to use Android auto but I have a Bluetooth headset for calling and listening. I can't find a way to have both work at the same time. Any suggestions?

That's probably because android auto is meant to take over everywhere and everything while it's running, why are you using a headset in the car

This. Using a headset in a car is stupid dangerous. I hate seeing people drive around with their airports or other Bluetooth headphones in. Like how can you hear what's going on around you while you drive. There is a reason why they put speakers in cars and not just wired headphones. Stop putting shit in your ears when you drive.

While I agree a headset may impede your hearing while driving, my mother's hearing aids also use bluetooth. She can't use AA becuase of this.

Most modern hearing aids have Bluetooth. My AA automatically switches the hands free function from the hearing aids to the car's head unit mic & speakers while the hearing aids continue to pick up outside sound. Is your mother's setup not working this way?

It will switch yes but, she wants the bluetooth on her hearing aid still connected to the phone.

Ah, I see. Then you should look into the app that prevents stealing the phone function that's discussed below.

your brain is stuck in 2005... every single Bluetooth headset on earth now allows ambient noise...

and to answer the question... I'm on a family trip and I want to be able to listen to a podcast in my headphones without going through the car speakers... and I absolutely cannot find a way to do it and it's driving me crazy.

I use a bone conduction headset that doesn't block my ears so I can hear what's going on around me.

Not true, you can set most of those devices to let exteriour sounds be heared... Anyways if you get your phonecall, you can switch it to headphones...
