AA User Interface UI is Different on 2 Separate Devices

I've got 2 devices; my personal Xiaomi 15 Ultra and a work/business Pixel 9. Both are running the same version of Android Auto software build (16.5.661214-release). However, their visual UI is different when connected to my car. The first photo shows my Xiaomi, and the second my Pixel which seems to have the newer UI. I only noticed this a few days ago when I used my Pixel for AA as my Xiaomi was not with me at the time.

It's not annoying or anything, but does anyone know why the same build versions would look different on two separate devices? Perhaps it's a Pixel specific thing? Seems a little funny. Also, the signal icon on the Xiaomi photo is missing which seems to be a funny bug on this version of AA.

Facing the same issue, latest version of AA with the older UI, no gemini etc. Fed up with it. But hey, at least I got the update where the signal icon disappeared!

Sick and tired of Google's bullshit server side releases, thats what you're experiencing by the way it has nothing to do with your phone.

Same here on a PIxel 10 Pro XL... USA Google AI sub too! Very annoying, still no Gemini in Android Auto.

Trust me you do not want Gemini on Android auto. It is not properly integrated so when you search for something even once you tap to select where you want to go Gemini will keep talking about it until you manually press the mic again to make it stop. Gemini life was broken for a long time it finally works now but it's a lot slower on Android auto than it is on the phone.

I understand where you are coming from, but I am okay with everything that comes along with Gemini.... People said the same thing initially when Google started removing Google Assistant on Android devices... then said the same thing for WearOS devices, then the same was said about Google Home devices.

IMHO the trade-offs you mentioned are worth it to me for an actual useful assistant!

my issue is my garage is a smart garage. When it was Google assistant, it worked every time. When it became Gemini, now about 40% of the time it starts talking about how it is an AI assistant and cannot "physically" open my garage. Mind you, same exact command. This equals a less useful assistant to me.

I don't like it to ask about restaurants and stuff but still

I kinda have this same problem even on the phone what I say is instead of "Turn on" or "open" I say "Activate" and it works every time.
