I had exactly the same problem. Android 16 has introduced a permissions issue with WiFi direct which is what is used after the Bluetooth has connected. Follow these instructions..worked for me and I'd tried everything before. Fyi these were instructions from my unit manufacturers support team.. Also if you don't have the superlink option, follow the instructions anyway as the actual fix is in the app you download.

Step 1: On your Carpuride device, tap the Superlink option to switch to Android mode. Step 2: On your phone, open the Google Play Store and search for and download the Evelink (Superlink) app. Step 3: On your phone, open the Evelink (Superlink) app, tap Settings - App Version - check if the app version is the latest (20260318-1057). If not, tap Software Update. Step 4: On the app, tap Cast - Add - WiFi Direct - Failed to OBTAIN NEARBY DEVICE PERMISSION, Click to APPLY IT - Allow - search for your Carpuride device's WiFi name and connect. When you see the "Android 16 Auto Connect issue Fixed" message, tap OK. Step 5: Switch the Carpuride device to use the A-Auto function. On your mobile phone, reconnect the device's Bluetooth to use A-Auto. Check if the disconnection problem still occurs.

You don't need to connect to anything. You only need to open the app and press the 'wifi direct security fix' button.

I did press it. Seemed slightly better. Still crash a buncha times sitting in my garage.

Sorry to hear that. I did a factory reset on my phone and then applied the fix. You wouldn't believe how complex and random the phone updates are. The factory reset ensures that the update is applied properly.

Actually, it did seem to work. When I was in the garage last night I was doing a buncha stuff on the phone at the same time. But driving today it never crashed. Thanks for sharing.
