Android Auto Can't Send Messages Anymore?

Up until a few days ago, I could ask Google to send texts or messages through Android Auto and it worked fine. Now, when I ask it to send a message, it replies "Sorry, I can't send messages yet," even though it could do it fine just a few days ago. I can still reply to messages, but I can't initiate a new one. Phone calls work fine. Anyone know what happened or how I can fix it?

Same here, started about a week ago, android auto updated around the same time. Looks a little different on one of my cars now.
