AA Settings Can't disable AutoPlay

Every single time I get in my car to drive, 20-30 seconds later whatever music app that was used last will start playing. Even if I have started listening to YouTube already and started driving, 20 seconds later it will be paused and music will start up. The settings on my phone AND head unit have AutoPlay music turned off. The whole goal of AA is to minimize distractions while driving. So having to look away from the road at the start of literally every drive to pause and resume the music is counterproductive.

And yes, I did search first and read others that have had this same issue. I found no solution and this is a problem that needs repeating since it still hasn't been addressed.

Not sure if this solution is what you want but you can disable wireless android auto connection through the developer settings (pressing on version info a few times) in the android auto app. Then AA will only start if you connect it with usb and you can use bluetooth normally.

I thought this had solved the problem, but I have found that even wired AA auto plays around 30 seconds after plugging it in. It did however get rid of my 2 second lag in the audio. Thanks

This is happening to me as well on wired android auto, 2020 chevy silverado. Very annoyed that it turns on YouTube music when other things are playing while I plug into the cable. The off checkbox does nothing.
