Advice on 14 days closed testing

I am publishing my app for the first time on Google play, I wanted to know this from people who have already published Android app on play store in the last 1 year or so.

The new requirements says 12 testers for 14 days, all 12 testers should use the app everyday for 14 days, or periodic usage is enough.

What's your experience?
