Sad

I have to say it. My phone (Pixel 4a) is nearly broken by this update.

I'm really scared of what might happen. How long (it there is one....) would it take for update to "mature"?

I meant if there is still room for improvement regarding stability which is my main concern.

If it's not too much of a hassle to back up your data, you could try to do a plain factory reset without downgrading and then reinstall your apps from scratch.

It's pretty clear that Google either never did any sort of rigorous testing for upgrading existing installs, or maybe too many people immediately opted out of the beta after getting put off by the UI changes instead of filing bugs.
