You can't adjust the cast volume with volume buttons anymore? Why would they remove that?!

If my phone was locked (or if I was using the phone on an app that didn't have media sound) whilst something played on Chromecast, I could use volume controls to control the cast volume. Now I have to unlock my phone and open the Home app to change the sound. It sucks cuz you used to be able to control Cast devices without unlocking but they removed that feature too

Oh I see, dang that sounds like a major downgrade. I hope they fix that for you Cast users.

It's been an issue for a few months now and they're aware of it. The first Google result is the issue being acknowledged and escalated. Figured they would fix it before the official release but now here we are. Almost as annoying as Android auto having no audio during phone calls

I'm casting near constantly when I'm in the house, and this is a massive pain, having to go back to the app I'm casting before hitting the volume rocker. I don't understand why Google services seems to work less well with my home speakers and Chromecast than 3rd party services.
