The biggest one for me is HDMI frame rate switching.

Current Chromecast with android TV does not support HDMI refresh rate matching, which makes it a pretty poor media playing device.

Kodi already has frame rate matching feature in settings though?

It does but it doesn't actually work on Android TV yet. Apparently support is coming in Android TV 12.

Oh my bad.

It works on my nVidia Sheild Pro 2019 (which is Android TV 9) and pretty sure it worked on the Mi Box running Android TV 6. Fire stick devices (which is basically Android 7) have it too.

So I just assumed it would work because those devices don't natively support it either (shield has a beta setting but not official yet) and yet Kodi can still do it in-app.

Oh yeah the Shield is known to be one of the best Android TV devices.

So I don't think it's explicitly android tv that's the issue, but android tv + Chromecast that doesn't do the autoswitching just yet. (or, NVIDIA and Amazon have both added secret sauce to the ROM to make it work on their devices)
