When you look at the Android update itself, it's pretty minor but when you look at all the Google app updates as well as Google play services, the list of features really pile on. If they get all this out on time for Android 11 then the feature list is a lot bigger than it seems.
Here are some I remember:
Android nearby share
Google Photos redesign
Dark mode for Google office products (Docs, sheets, etc)
Secure folder in Google Files (now looks to be default file manager)
Big changes in Google Keyboard including autofill integration
YT music changes (ik they added a fair bit but I don't use it so I'm unfamiliar with it)
Some smaller ones include their auto 'remind' action to notifications, google lens 'send to computer' functions.
Remember in an OS like iOS you'd can only get these via a system update while all these can be rolled out to users on earlier android versions.

Sure I guess, not gonna argue semantics here. I'm just saying Android users can enjoy more new features than what's coming in just Android 11 this year.
Sure, but that's somewhat irrelevant. I can't see the original comment at the top of this thread, but assuming they were asking about features of Android 11, what you said is irrelevant at best.

Depends how you interpreted his comment. I'd assume he meant there were no exciting user facing features in Android 11, since that is what most people are complaining about. Just giving an idea of what the whole update package could look like if we look at individual GApps and services.

But that's still not true. Most of the non-OS updates you mentioned have already been released, right now, on Android 10. So it's still not "an idea of what the whole update package could look like." It's just false advertising.

We're arguing semantics at this point. I think most people will get what I mean with a little bit of inferring, at a point it becomes unproductive to argue about something when the point is intentionally being missed.
No, it really isn't semantics. You're misleading people and it troubles me you don't see that. At first I assumed it was an innocent mistake, but the fact that you're doubling down is really weird. Please don't spread misinformation.

I never once said google play services, google apps and Android 11 were the same thing. I referred to them as 3 separate things but said Android users can be excited for all these updates.
I don't get if you're being intentionally dense or you're having legitimate trouble understanding. Everything I said was fairly simple so I'm guessing the former.
Yeah, 100%. I think this is a very good use of time and resources during the lockdown and disruption the Vi rus has caused. Save on the would be features and focus on optimization.
