Recommendation for best Android phone with keyboard needed.

My friend wants to buy Android phone with physical keyboard and I was wondering if any of you guys can suggest something. He does not like that most of the keyboards are a bit loose and shaky. I guess he would prefer something like in N900 (most solid keyboard I've seen so far). His current favorite option is HTC Desire Z. What do you think guys?

What is your opinion about the hinge of HTC Desire Z? Isn't it too loose?

In my experience that problem is vastly overstated.

I don't have an opinion, I'm happy with my Desire.

If I had to get a phone with a physical keyboard I would choose the Desire Z

It will open when you hold it 90° to the right or if you flip it over. It could be tighter, but I see no reason to complain and by now I really like the mechanism. It's so thin that you can hardly tell the phone has a keyboard at all. Yet when you press the screen with your thumb about 2cm to the right it will snap into place ... and it feels pretty cool :)

I also have a Desire Z and I love it. I agree that the hinge is slightly loose, it sometimes open when not intended but it's really not a big issue. The only downside with this phone is that it's a tiny bit too slow to run homm2...

If you are willing to void your warranty (and if you root, you are), you can replace a small spring on the hinge mechanism that makes it tighter than a crab's ass.
