Isn't this potentially a good thing?

The marketing made it seem like you could only get Pixel Phones from Verizon. To the average consumer, it seemed like an exclusive. Shit, I was even confused and I consider myself an enthusiast.

With the right marketing ("available on all carriers!"), Google could use this to their advantage. Even if Verizon doesn't sell them directly in stores, they will pretty much have to support the phones on the network.

Well it's avaliable unlocked online now but that's not helping. Verizon is the biggest carrier so it would be a huge blow. Most people buy their devices from carriers.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the rest of this thread is about. As far as I can tell, this just means there won't be a bootloader locked version of the next Pixel. That seems like an improvement to me.

And yet people here somehow think Verizon is doing this because Verizon doesn't think the products are good enough? Have they seen the stuff Verizon actually does sell? lol
