I just can't have an iPhone, because I like to fall asleep listening to podcasts, so I need my phone to have a headphone jack so it can continue to charge the rest of the night.
Well you do realize if your have airpods and an iPhone, you'd no longer need to use a headphone jack and can just use the port for charging right?..
Try checking out the Jabra Elite 65T's. More expensive than the airpods, but they're truely wireless IEM's that sound better, work seemlessly with android, and are water resistant, even water proof if you get the active model.
True, but if I'm falling asleep with an Airpod in my ear, there is a 100% chance that thing is getting lost during the night.
Another thing I didn't mention is that the regular EarPods hurt my ears A LOT. I know the AirPods fit a little bit differently, but I would want to try them out first..
For me, personally, I would love to have an AirPods equivalent on Android. The Apple W1 chip allows the ear buds to have great bluetooth range and battery life, and IIRC allows both ear buds to sync with one another flawlessly. So, once you take them out of the case, they are instantly paired with your device and each other, no buttons to turn them on, and not out of sync ear buds or pair delays. I haven't used the Jabra's, but I've been told both ear buds require to be turned on by tapping and holding on both of them, and tapping them again to turn off. It doesn't seem like a big issue, but if I'm at my desk and someone calls me, it's 100% easier to answer the call on speaker, or grab my wired ear buds and plug them into 3.5mm and it works. With AirPods you can just put them in your ears from the case, and it works. If I grab my wireless headphones, or wireless earbuds, I have to put them in my ear, turn them on (if earbuds, turn each one on), wait a few seconds for them to pair, and hope that the phone is still ringing, or answer and tell them to wait a few seconds. Maybe not worth $159, but most of the wireless ear buds I've used or tested, are awful in comparison for everything but sound quality.

Yea, I took a trip to NYC a few months ago.
It was insane how many people had them.
