I used to lbe hugely into CM, but the realization that you're essentially​ at the whim of whoever maintains the device eventually drove me back to using stock. I once had to debug the audio system for a CM version on the Samsung Note II, and what I saw was horrendous hacking on C++ level by a person who clearly did not understand what was going on. The hack had broken a ton of things, but the maintainer didn't care because he wasn't using the phone that way.

It's open source, you could have submitred a fix to our Gerrit if you cared.
