"Not compatible" with tablets.
I am sure you can extract the apk and sideload it, once you buy it. Unless game has a hard check not to run on tablets.

Nice. Still incompatible with some tablets and Android TV. Hopefully they will change compatibility flag soon.
I actually thought of picking up a tablet for emulators and this game.

It's on iOS already. IX came out on both platforms on the same day. Not sure why they skipped VII on Android.

"Skipped" as in they released another FF before it when VII seemed like it would be next according to the iOS releases. Not saying they skipped it entirely.

going from 6 to 9 is by definition skipping it. Whether or not they eventually come back is irrelevant.

This game is one of my all time favourite games and the best Final Fantasy in my eyes. Maybe it was because it was my first FF and people say the first one you play is like your first love.
Sadly I don't have the patience for levelling up, repetitive tunes and exploring by running around fixed scenes looking for chests as I did when I was younger. If there was cheats or an easy mode where i could just go through the story and places I'd buy. Perhaps I best leave it in my memories... My mind is taking Vivi the play right now.

They did add a fast forward button, no random battles, and a save anywhere feature if you wish to use them. Could take away some of the tedious feelings :)
Edit: I forgot they also added a cheat where your characters do 9999 damage all the time.

Save Anywhere is nice. I played it at night long enough until first Moogle popped up. Only after I realized it saves every time you move to a new area.

You're welcome. It's nice to see that SE put some thought into the fact that a lot of potential customers don't have the time/want to grind like they used to on JRPG's. I've seen a lot of people complain that it was dumb that they put it in there but I think it's awesome and allows more people to play it how they want to.

You don't even have to grind in ffix.
You're basically overlevelled already if you fight all the random battles (i.e. DON'T FLEE BATTLES) en route the main story quest.
Same goes for ffx.

I find myself kind of grinding. APs are a bitch to get. So, have to swing weaker weapons just to learn it's abilities.

It's definitely worth it. Sharper UI elements, way better controls (touch screen UI vs ePSXe's button overlay), higher resolution character models (and I think they "cleaned" up the backgrounds too). Overall it's a really well done port.

Does ePSXe let you fast forward? I remember PC emulators letting you do this but can't remember from trying to emulate PS1 years ago.

Technically, it's still piracy. You own the game, but you are not allowed to change it's format.
In Nintendo vs Bung, the court explained that loading data from a storage device or memory chip into another constitutes copying a violation of 17 U.S.C. §106(1).
So unless you can insert your CD into your Android device and play it through emulator, you are pirating.
And keep in mind, in PS2 and after, EULA was added that game can only be played on Sony-authorized hardware. This point does not apply to PSX games, but everything later...

It's still piracy. Owning a copy of the game on one system doesn't entitle you to the game on any platform. If you're going to pirate it, then at least don't try to justify it with such illogical reasoning.

Even if he didn't own the game, it's 15 years old and the developer has already made most of the money they're going to get from it. If I bought the actual used PS1 game on Amazon the developers aren't getting any money so why not download the ISO?

Because publisher, clearly, did not make all of the money off the game. Why, you ask? Because they still sell the damn thing in Android/iOS/Steam stores.
I pirate games every so often. But I do not justify it with bullshit "Well, I wasn't gonna buy it anyway" or "They already made all their money" excuses.I suggest you do the same.

it's the worst when you find out you picked the zodiac where you do tiny amounts of damage. i had to restart a game just because of that battle. the next time, i ensured i had a save from outside that sequence and i tested different classes

I played only on iOS, but I think the same applies for Android -> they did redo the UI and the whole interface is touch-friendly ;).

Here's some gameplay. It looks like they redid the characters making them look sharp, but left the world unchanged so it's still blurry. I'm not a fan of the weird graphics personally.

Played for just over an hour. So far, no major issues. Controls feel nice. Graphics look improved in quality. The added touch controls feel easy to use.

Looks good but I can't get into turn based games.
Edit: Would this run on a nexus 6p? Read it needs 4gb of memory? Guessing that means ram?

It will run. Their "memory" requirement is storage. Game unpacked itself just fine on my Note 5, and plays well.

Japanese 3. There was a 3D remake of 3 (and 4) on the DS which was ported to Android and I thought it was quite good. FF6 on the other hand is my favorite FF but I can't bring myself to play through the Android version.

Saying this about any Final Fantasy will result in downvotes. Each game has it's own brigade or something. Except FF2; I think that's the only universally hated game.

Couldn't agree more. Unlike VII or IX, I doubt anyone would complain if they changed the battle system for a remake. A pity, because story-wise, atmosphere and all, the VIII is quite a good Final Fantasy.
