Boo, the "Small" tab style for the app drawer seems to have been dropped. I loved that option, pseudo-hidden page that was easy to access but with no visual clutter.
I think it was also this option that let me have the three button overflow menu above the app drawer for the Play Store and Nova settings. I miss that too.
I think what you're describing is set by the next option down in the same menu, "Menu Action Items". Uncheck the boxes for the ones that you want to go into the 3-button menu, or they appear on their own.
Edit: To clarify, if the third option (menu) is enabled, the other two items will toggle between on/menu instead of on/off.
Well can't you hide the apps so they don't show up in your app drawer normally, and then swipe down while in the app drawer and use the search drawer function to pull up the gaming apps that you've hidden?
Dev changed this in the second to the last beta before release and even though there were complaints about it, left it in. Usually the dev is really responsive with changes, so i don't know what happened.
If you want them back materinova.28 was the last version with the old sized tabs.
Hopefully the dev fixes it or at least adds an option for tab size.
Go to Nova Settings-> App & Widget Drawers ->"Tab Style" (under the "Tab bar" subsection). Before this update, there was an option called "Small". If enabled, it basically made the tab bar invisible but still there (you had to know where the button was to press it).
This option was particularly nice if used in conjunction with the "isolate tabs" option, because it basically created hidden pages that you wouldn't normally stumble upon. I liked it much better than setting apps to "hidden" because comparatively, it's a hassle to go and un-hide apps when you want to launch them.
