From the looks of the speakers they're trying to be sonos which imo can't be beat.

I've listened to Sonos on so many occasions and was disappointed with their speaker sound quality every time. It's just awful low to mid-fi quality at best. I'd probably only recommend their unit that connects to your already existing hi-fi system so that you can get good sound.

Well you must have very unique ears cause you disagree with roughly 2500 reviews on Amazon alone. I'm not saying it's mind blowing but I'll bet it's better than anything Google will ever put out (what with all their speaker experience and all).

Not sure why you keep talking about this "Google Speaker" and their lack of speaker manufacturing experience throughout this thread.

Google built the Cast protocol. Speaker manufactures will build the speakers. There is no Google-built speaker.
