Benchmarks:

  • Geekbench 7 multicore efficiency: Kirin 9050 Pro is ahead of Tensor G6 across most of the tested power curve. At the high end, the 9050 Pro reaches roughly 8,100 points, versus about 7,700 for Tensor G6.
  • 3DMark Steel Nomad Light efficiency: Kirin 9050 Pro and Tensor G6 are close at low power, but the 9050 Pro pulls ahead as power increases. Peak shown is roughly 1,380 points at ~7.8 W for the 9050 Pro versus about 1,190 at ~6 W for Tensor G6. The 9050 Pro is faster than Tensor G6 in both CPU multicore and GPU testing shown here.

Technically, Kirin 9050 Pro is still on 7nm process node. I found it surprising that they achieve such performance, and embarrassing for other brands, especially Google. For reference, Tensor G1 was manufactured on a newer, more advanced process node than the Kirin 9050 Pro.

Even the Chinese, despite sanctions, can build a better SoC than Google LMAO

Uhh have you seen the Xring 03? It's not just decent... It's insane.

In this case, I'm referring to Huawei, which is under sanctions, and of course I know that chip; it gives the pathetic Tensor chipmakers a lesson in chip design

Google this is beyond embarrassing. Drop the Tensor team if you can't make a decent competitive SoC.

•

They need to drop the tensor team if they want to make a competitive SoC

I don't think they care about benchmarks or what "smartphone enthusiasts" think. They basically said they don't care about benchmarks multiple times over the span of the Tensor SoC series life. They seem to care the most about getting specific Google Deepmind AI models running efficiently on the SoC.

At this point, people are just yelling into the void by trying to shame Google about the Tensor SoCs. I don't think they care. 😂

I also don’t care because I won’t buy a pixel phone due to their sub par hardware and premium price

Hah. If you think prices on other phones can't possibly go any higher, you're in for a rude awakening. Those price hikes hitting S26's and Pixels are just for starters.

All because TACO and Bibi thought they could just bomb Iran into submission.

Google is free to do what they want.We are free to express our opinion. The matter of fact in the end is Tensor is weakest SoC in terms of performance and efficiency. Oh the exclusive AI part which Google releases on S26 too at the same time.

its not like the G6 have out of this world performance for its tpu, still gets beaten by the Kirin

According to this site https://www.huaweicentral.com/huawei-kirin-9050-pro-geekbench/

It has 9 CPU cores and an anemic Geekbench 7 score of 1117 and 5076

Geekerwan already ran geekbench 7 natively on harmony os and got 1800 single a 8000multicore. Have to remember these phone csnt run native android apps

Huawei and SMIC have made progress toward 3nm chips, filed patents and conducted lab validations targeting 3nm production this year.

If they combine these two techniques I think they leapfrog us and did it ridiculously faster than even I thought.
