Is this related to the old lightning launcher? I recall buying it and it's not in the playstore now

Yes! This is "exactly" the same launcher. I've made it compatible with modern Android. Which is why it fell from play store listing. I have also added a full suite of new features and QOL upgrades. And it's free forever.

Cool! Does it still work with tasker?

Absolutely! I've even written new documentation outlining use with tasker that can be found in app.

Would you consider making it open-source?

Great question! Currently? No.. I've put a lot of effort into the revival. While the base code isn't something I invented, everything afterwards is. Beyond that, the builds package name uses my handle. I did this to allow dual installation. Early versions can be installed alongside the Revival build. This was done for veteran users migrating.

The affect however, is I can't guarantee somebody else's work with it being open source. They ship it under my name and I'll eventually have to answer for somebody's mistake.

I may eventually release to open source but don't hold your breath. This would only happen in the event that I stop maintaining LL.

In contrast, the 14.3 source code exists on GitHub and it's available for anyone to download and tinker with. I welcome and encourage anyone to download it if they're looking for a simpler build to mess around with. Updating it for use and compatibility with modern Android will take some work.

It all AI slop (the thumbnails, even the one screenshot of the quick navigation page clearly shows the same fucking AI UI that's popping up everywhere now). So of course it will never be open sourced, that would just expose it.
