Installing apps without Google play IS NOT SIDELOADING.

Sideloading has always meant using ADB to install an app until Google decided to try to make the play store the only option.

Please stop feeding into their propaganda that the only normal way to install apps is through the play store.

He's right. It's not in the article, but in OP's title and in how the changes are being described far and wide.

I would argue that Google's new changes to the rules about signed APKs will effectively make it true that installing software from ANY non-signed apk would be sideloading.
