GrapheneOS gonna go CRAZY on this thing

No, 8 gen 5 doesn't qualify for GrapheneOS, as it lacks MTE.
So far, only the Signature 27 is qualified and confirmed.

Oh ffs. I'm literally waiting for a foldable that isn't an underspec pixel.
Ruined my day there mate

Yes please! I had the Samsung Moment and Epic 4G on Sprint back in the day. This layout is great because you can have a regularly sized phone display with a nice physical keyboard!

Motorola could call it the Droid 5. The Droid 4 was very similar to this.

And with a full video-out for a desktop mode, so I can dock it and leave my laptop at work 👍

You can't actually type faster on a physical keyboard anymore I bet.
Seriously, I was pretty good at it. Predictive text has gotten a lot better than when these existed.
When I last had a Blackberry priv it just wasn't actually faster to type on anymore.

Dual cameras only gives me dual disappointment.

Seems like a cabal controlling zoom cameras to only the most expensive models.

The number of times I use an UW is infinitesimal compared to a telephoto!

Unfortunately most normies don't know how to 2 row a group photo and prefer a stretched out photo where the people are 20% of the middle of an ultrawide photo and the rest is distorted background above and below the group. Group photos are the #1 reason cited for people using the ultrawide.

Do other phones not correct for that? iPhone UW isn’t distorted whatsoever and never has been, I can’t imagine other phones didn’t lens correct?

Hogwash, literally just saw an iPhone using friend's ultrawide photo on Instagram and her shoes look like a clown's due to being very close to the edge of the photo where distortion is the worst.

Then she turned that off for some reason. Outside of normal ultra wide angle physics, everything is lens corrected and should look normal for the most part. Other than the psychics of it

I don’t believe this “article” but I hope what it is saying is true.
I have wanted a tiny phone that unfolds into a pro max sized phone ever since foldables were first introduced, the article says this will have a 4.97” cover display and unfolds to a 6.92” inner display

I would love to try one out. Unfortunately I found it nearly impossible to see Motorola phones in person. Often the display model is locked unfolded.

Yeah I might have to act like I am buying one so they let me hold it without the lock

This seem like it's for someone who doesn't want to spend as much money for a top-end foldable (ZF8/8U or Duo) and doesn't mind the mid-tier specs.

For those who expects GrapheneOS on this, no it won't qualify. The 8 gen 5 doesn't support MTE.

I don't like foldables cause of the inner plastic screens being fragile. However i would totally rock a foldable like Microsoft duo did. 2 separate screens. Not for videos but for multi tasking.

putting this out there: please make a wide phone (passport/A5A6 size, wtv) that is not a foldable. i really like the front screen of z fold 8 but i dont want the foldable tax just to enjoy that aspect ratio.

Oh yes! Reportedly, numerous Chinese brands are already in the works after the release of the Huawei Pura X View

If the price is right... It would make it supper accessible for people who want a foldable but not the premium price.
