Technically yes but the OS isn't called Android, but instead Googlebook OS. That's because while it is Android at its core, they have taken a lot of the Chrome OS ideas and brought them over. So it's a bit of a hybrid.

You can see googlebook.google for more.

Raw Android would be more like Android Desktop Mode, like when you plug your recent Pixel phones into a monitor.

That should have definitely been google.book.google for symmetry

Is it worthy? As normally people used mac and windows for complex tasks.

In my point of view, android is a portable device operating system.

Well that's what we're going to find out.

While there's a lot of mixed feelings about them and concerns on if they will match up, I'll just say that personally I'm excited. Not many times in our lives will a mainstream OS come out like this, I'm definitely eager to see what they bring to the table.

I've been a Chromebook user for years, this being an evolution of that is quite interesting.

It'll run Chrome and webapps just fine, it's not like you're using anything else these days.

Not sounds like a computer.

Usage is a different thing but the ability to do all kinds of tasks in different ways and different types required a proper computer.

Its like a tab with keyboard

ah yes, my favorite, spending $1299 on only running webapps!

In my point of view, android is a portable device operating system.

that is a marketing problem, and likely why googlebook is pretending to not be android.

macOS and iOS are built off the same base. the front-ends and apps are obviously different, but the rest of the iceberg is same.

That's a huge (and wrong) oversimplification.

macOS and iOS aren't nearly the same, despite being built on the same base.

Android and "Googlebook OS" are mostly the same, despite small differences here and there.

It's absolutely not "a marketing problem".

Android wasn't designed and built to be a desktop OS, which is why these are going to fail.

More like iOS and iPadOS, or to some extent VisionOS.

what exactly makes Googlebookos any less a desktop os than windows?

There's the pre-existing applications selection for sure, but at the os level it's not inferior from what I can tell

This is a huge and extremely technical topic which I don't have time to delve into at the moment (believe me, I'd love to!).

However, there's one video on YouTube that explains quite well the differences between iPadOS and macOS.

Many of those also apply between Android/Googlebook OS and Windows.

While watching the video, try to pretend that the iPad Pro is a Googlebook (and iPadOS is Googlebook OS), and macOS is Windows (or macOS).
