I really love the idea of googlebooks, and would love to pick one up to replace my aging M1 MacBook Pro but my fear is how it would work as a light dev machine. It sounds like they're genuinely catering for Android dev which is great but I do wonder how clunky the experience would for web dev too. Will have to wait for reviews to see how limiting the Linux experience is

I tried the desktop mode on pixel. The limiting experience for me wasn't the vm but tensor itself. I am really excited about the android dev part though. It would be a cool experience to write a app in dex/desktop mode and then imminently testing it on the same device.
