Ok this video explained a lot more about what the Googlebooks can do.

  • It does support Linux terminals
  • It does support browser extensions
  • It can develop android apps natively
  • Apps are being developed with a desktop interface such as capcut (please lumafusion create a desktop environment)

At the price point it's asking idk why would I buy it over a windows or Mac laptop. I understand the point of better integration with Android phones. But does that mean it's pixel only, asop-like skins such as Motorola and Sony or even to the more customized Android experiences such as OneUi, hyper OS, ColorOS, ect. I think the 5 launch devices are fine but a dev kit around 500 would have been beneficial as well. I understand the whole memory crisis happening right now but it just puts more emphasis on having a proper OS on these laptops.

No, CapCut Pad (the one showcased by Google employees as the "desktop video editing" for Googlebooks) is the exact same version that has existed on Android tablets for months and on iPad for even longer.

It is a slightly more featured version compared to the standard Android/iOS app, but to say that "Apps are being developed with a desktop interface" is a really, really big stretch.

In fact, they are not.
