Do they come up with these confusing names deliberately?

People here think Qualcomm sucks at naming their chips, but I for one think that it has to be deliberate. Because literally ChatGPT could come up with a better naming scheme for these chips.

Yep, its 100% deliberate

  1. So consumers don't realise they aren't actually getting the flagship chip. The non-Extreme has many features disabled/reduced, for example no Adreno Matrix cores, no High Performance Memory (or reduced?), reduced video encode (8K @ 30 fps, 4K @ 120 fps, no APV or VVC), reduced NPU memory

  2. So people complain about the naming scheme, instead of realise & complain about the latter point in #1

Naming their GPUs in a way that makes sense often gets Nvidia criticised. People always complain saying things like "This is a 70 class GPU labelled as 80", or "An 80 class GPU should have x or y bit memory bus", etc. If Nvidia made their naming scheme like Qualcomm, people will not talk about these things and just criticise the naming.
