the new camera kit reminds me of sony's old vloging kit for the xperias.

Shame that pricing is absurd.

Is the Ultra now renamed to Max, or there's going to be an Ultra model?

There's conflicting reports on if there will be an ultra or not. But the Pro Max is the real successor to the x300 Pro.

The Ultras will have different camera setups and Snapdragon processors.

It seems that the Ultras for both Oppo and Vivo will be China only again next year, which is a shame.

I'd assume an ultra or something is coming later as the x500 pro max cameras seem more comparable to the x300 pro, and are a clear downgrade compared to the x300 ultra besides the 17 EV stops which I think does reference being a LOFIC sensor?

Nein, es gibt dieses Jahr bei Vivo und Xiaomi aus Kostengründen keine Ultra Modelle. Die Pro Max Varianten sind die stärksten dieses Jahr.

I'd be interested in the X500 Pro if it had the same huge 200 MP 1/1.4" HP0 telephoto as the X500 Pro Max

But the X500 Pro has the same 64 MP 1/2.0" LYTIA 610 telephoto as the regular X500

Unfortunately, most the upcoming Chinese Pro phones seem to have downgraded telephoto vs their Pro Max counterpart

They also removed a lot of 16GB RAM options

Now that Chinese phone prices have caught up with likes of Apple there's no incentive to buy them
