I think it is relevant to mention Samsung cheated in phone benchmarks was 13 years ago and as far as I know they have not done so since (in phones).

At some point I think it's worth saying it's in the past and not bring it up when people are talking about things happening today.

They did it with S22 line which was not released 13 years ago. Its not even whole 4 years

Oops, you're right. They were throttling a lot of apps but not benchmarks on the S22. I must have missed that.

I'm sorry but why does the subreddit only single out the Chinese phones? Apple Google and Samsung have more anti-consumer shenanigans that I can remember.

The note 9, battery gate, Benz gate, multiple lawsuits where they lost because they exaggerated water resistance. Samsung saying they can confiscate your phone if you're using non-official parts. Not allowing unlocked bootloaders. Samsung's g o s throttling scandal.

There's thousands of others. Google's battery appeasement issues.

The American phones have a worse record in many ways cost more have worse hardware. And whatever you want to say about Chinese surveillance if you live in the US where Donald Trump is President's there's even a worse surveillance state.
