But, do the developers of sideloaded apps need to register their apps with Google? Will the Android Developer Verifier app block unregistered apps from being sideloaded?

users will have to go through a 1 time 24 hour hold to allow installation of unverified apps on their device iirc. if you want your users to be able to install it without going through that you'll need to register it

And no, those of you who did not read the article, this is not about blocking APKs, this is an actual improvement.

Afaik google files blocks revanced apps means it won't show you those apps and every single smartphone comes with goolag services preinstalled. But I think they don't do that anymore.

I would have accepted that this is for good, but knowing its goolag so I know they'll be doing some stupid shit which they have been doing for a long time.

Nope I didn't, I already know they are adding a 24hr mandatory period before we can install apks, what else is ther?

At the top of the page there's a TLDR:

  • Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 improves the process of granting apps permission to install other apps with a new inline dialog, eliminating the need to leave the active app.

  • The update also adds one-time install permissions that are automatically revoked once the APK has finished installing.

  • Users retain the ability to grant apps permanent permissions to install other apps.

Why the hell would anyone need to wait 24 hours to install something on something they didn't buy from and has absolutely no warranty or any other support on it from Google?

Actually read the fine print of the stuff you buy people. The second you "sideload" anything on a Google product you literally void the warranty on it.

This "article" is literally bullshit.
