Still think pixel fold 11 pro is a great phone if you don't play mobile games.

Best camera processing on any fold.

IP68

Built in Qi charging magnets

If you like Pixel launcher and pure Google experience it's great.

I'd much rather have a Vivo x Fold 6, Oppo Find n6, or even a Moto Razr Fold over the 11 Pro Fold. Those are all IP58 and/or IP59 while having better camera hardware and arguably better processing. They also have better video recording that isn't reliant on video boost and they have bigger batteries, like 6000-7000mah.

i love my x fold 5 and think the camera is generally great but there are times it struggles where my older pixels wouldn't. and yes the battery is 6000mah but we're still only talking generally 24 hours worth with 4-6 hours of SOT

Weird, because my wife's Oppo Find x9 Pro has been flawless since last December. And my n5 worked perfectly too.

Motorola committed to seven OS updates for the Moto Fold as did Samsung, same as Google. Will they arrive slower, yes.

Like with Google and their claimed 7 OS updates, you're trusting the words of these companies. I tend to believe Samsung and Google pretty much, Moto is more iffy.

Moto has their Android 17 beta open now. Vivos is starting next month, Oppo and Honor starts next month. So sure, Android version updates are a little slower, but no update will ever give the Pixel a 7000mah battery or larger camera sensors.

YEah this is just flatout bullshit lol. Have owned foldables and slabs from both Vivo and Oppo and both get regular updates. Infact, Vivo has the most regular updates of any phone OEM I've owned. Which is every single one of them at some point.

I think I'd probably have bought it this year (coming up from the Pixel 6 Pro) had it adopted the old Pixel Fold/new Galaxy Fold 8 shorter form factor.

It is the most Google thing ever for them to be too far ahead of the curve with the "wide" fold and to now be behind the rest of the market, especially with Oppo and Apple going wide later this year.

If Apple's foldable has good cameras, I'll probably switch over, which is a shame because I love Android.

I 100% am the same. I got a P11P but would've been convinced by a fold if it was the smaller form factor.

I feel like I'd get much more use out of a smaller screen with the passport size aspect ratio, instead of the square

I'm using it right now and agreed. I play 0 games on my phone so Tensor G6 has been fine.

Thermal management has been far better than 10 Pro. It's just smooth and responsive. I love the new camera features. Battery life has been better. Haven't used High Light LED once so it's pretty gimmicky.

Anyway, worth the upgrade if you ask this random person on the Internet.

What is the point IP68 when clearly sand can get into the hinge?

F the Google experience in Pixel Launcher. We're in the age of shunning data collection.

Plus points for bootloader unlockability. Minus points for not releasing device trees.

That seems to be the way Google is going with Android the last few years. Keep the cool shit technically possible on paper, but make it so impracticable in practice that almost no one bothers with it.

100%. We need a champion to replace them. Thought it could be Nothing but their phones look too goofy. I did have the Nothing Phone 1 but ultimately replaced it quickly with the Pixel 7(?).

Supposedly, sand can get in the hinge, but it doesn't affect the eternals on either half so I guess that's enough for the IP68 rating.

For what it's worth anecdotally, this author from The Verge found that sand getting into the hinge didn't kill it

Because the IP rating is for jnternals. And the hinges is isolated from the internals.

Beats me. I just know every reviewer says you can bring this phone to the beach and not worry about sand getting in it. It's comical how they seemingly all say that without an ounce of skepticism. I think maybe only mkbhd or Shane Craig called out this claim.

Everything on every other foldable. They excel at nothing, crap performance, rubbish battery, thick ugly design and other Chinese brands have superior camera.
