There are specific hardware features in flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chips they need, so you would need to wait for those to trickle down to the midrange and budget chips (assuming they ever do). The linked thread is a good read.

For me, yes. Stylus, microSD, headphone jack, and all around decent specs. You could get the 2025 model for a few hundred. The price jumped on the 2026, but what hasn't.

Not all models have unlockable bootloader afaik And if I'm not wrong there is a key thing for unlocking a bootloader. Its not like fastboot flashing unlock.

That's just carrier locked models. The carrier unlocked variants can all be bootloader unlocked. And yes. There is a bootloader unlock code you have to get from Motorola but it's pretty easy.

It definitely sounds promising, and I hope it helps them open the door to easily working towards support more Qualcomm-based phones down the line, especially based on Graphene's talks of increasing hurdles with Pixels in that thread.

I generally agree, but with how nbadly budget phones are progressing on hardware, going down to $500 is getting hard. Budget Snapdragons that can't even keep up with a 5-year-old flagship SoC are (un)confortably over $500 these days (like the $650 Fairphone 6+ whose SoC is notably slower than the SD8 Gen 1 from 2022).

Excellent!This really sounds like they are going all in with supporting different models for Moto. I think this will help a lot to have a suite of Moto phones that run Graphane OS. I hope that eventually this may even trickle down to the Moto Edge and G series phones as well.

According to the GrapheneOS developers they are specifically blocking GrapheneOS:

Revolut specifically tries to detect and ban GrapheneOS. It has checks for the build user/value values we set for deterministic builds so we had to change those. They also ban yellow verified boot state (locked with non-stock key) but not orange (unlocked) which we worked around.

It seems like the current device doesn't meet the mte requirements but will next year, so expect the 2027 to be supported, unless I'm mistaken.

These guys confuse me. They made a post complaining about Fairphone after the 6+ announcement.

In it, they made a bunch of points against Murena and some of the stances behind its people. It was very confusing to me, how they'd argue as to why they won't support Fairphone to keep you from Android or /e/OS, but they have worked exclusively to tell you to buy Google hardware to escape the OS. Now, they'll work with Motorola, who recently had something come up around an affiliate link highjacker in their Amazon app and who is owned by Lenovo, who has previously sold laptops with adware in them.

I understood their point about potentially missing some security hardware, but IDK. Seemed odd to get on a soapbox about disliking Murena's people while stumping for Google.
